Essential product properties such as the softness of creams and the way they feel on your skin, the gloss or combing behaviour of hair and the waterproof character of sunscreen lotions can be clearly increased through a clever selection of HANSA CARE silicone products.

Aminofunctional siloxanes
Aminofunctional siloxanes are an important product group within the segment of hair care products providing gloss and hold. The siloxane chains of different length are generally modified through lateral aminoalkyl residues. The siloxane can be basically varied through the nitrogen content, the kind of aminoalkyl residue and the chain length of the siloxane. These parameters control the gloss, combing behaviour and in particular the way your hair feels.

Silicone quats
In the silicone oils with quaternary modification, the so-called silicone quats, the nitrogen groups are modified in a special process. Due to their particular structure silicone quats can be very easily combined with many other components for modern, transparent hair care agents. The essential parameters of their application fields are the high substance activity out of aqueous solutions combined with a good gloss and an individual handle.

Silicone waxes
Silicone waxes are generally polydimethyl siloxanes which are modified through long chain alkyl residues. Depending on the chain length and the number of their modifications they are liquid or solid at room temperature. Unlike classic silicone oils, silicone waxes are soluble in various organic media. Their temperature stability is optimum and they have improved sensory properties. Silicone waxes can be applied as oil and wax components in creams or in cosmetic articles to improve the skin sensation and to increase the gloss.

Polyether-modified silicone waxes
Polyether-modified silicone waxes are modified with long chain alkyl residues and additionally with polyether groups. Due to their special structure they are particularly suited as dispersion auxiliaries or as emulsifiers for W/O emulsions. The produced emulsions have a distinct storability.

Silicone polyethers
Silicone polyethers are polydimethyl siloxanes which are modified with ethylene oxide / propylene oxide segments. The modification of the hydrophobic siloxane backbone with hydrophilic polyether groups leads to products with a distinct surface activity. Silicone polyethers are widely used for cosmetics. This application ranges from hair care via shaving foams up to cosmetics. Effects such as gloss, skin sensation and combing behaviour can be realised.
Silicone polyethers can also be applied as dispersing additives in numerous formulations.
